Property Tax Freeze Efficiency Plan

March, 2015

To be eligible for the property tax freeze credit, local governments are required to submit an efficiency plan to NYS Department of Budget by June 1, 2015. On this page, you will find a link to the plan that the Town of DeRuyter will be submitting that outlines four efficiency programs:

  1. The Town/Village agreement on street and sidewalk maintenance,
  2. A shared VoIP phone system with Madison County
  3. The shared building agreement with the DeRuyter Free Library
  4. Contracted electric supply purchase in anticipation of a Solar Power Purchasing agreement with Madison County

These four programs are projected to save the Town of DeRuyter approximately $47,000 over the next five years. I hope you find the plan informative and I welcome any suggestions for future efficiency programs.
